Set up brands
Brands are what you sell. Each product in Lychee belongs to a brand. Lychee organizes products, presentations, orders, and reports by brand. Thus, you must record your brands as one of your first tasks.
You find brands in Settings → Business → Brands. Only the business owner can use this page.
Add a brand
Section titled “Add a brand”Open Settings → Business → Brands and select Add. Then do these steps:
- Name: Type the brand name as you write it for a customer. Lychee shows this name on all its pages.
- Trigram: Type a short code of three characters or fewer. The code must be unique in your business. The trigram is a short name for the brand. Lychee uses it to identify brands in dense lists. Lychee also uses it to name brands in the subject lines of reports. You can type the trigram in uppercase or lowercase letters. Lychee keeps it in uppercase.
- Tags (optional): Type free-form labels. Type one label at a time and push Enter after each label. Tags help you classify brands by category or supplier when the name does not give sufficient information.
- Select Save.
The search box above the list finds brands by name and by trigram. Thus, a good trigram is the fastest way to find a brand again.
You can edit brands, but you cannot delete them. Products, presentations, orders, and reports refer to brands. Thus, the page has no delete button. To correct a name or a trigram, edit the brand.
What this feeds
Section titled “What this feeds”- Locations. Each location shows a list of the brands that it sells. See Set up locations.
